Employee Engagement

The Employee is critical to any company. No matter how big or small the business is, each employee contributes to the progress. Companies try to get the best out of their employees by engaging with them regularly.

Employee engagement refers to the employees' professional and emotional connection to their work, their aspirations, their teams, and their organization. Passion and commitment to their work is influenced by job satisfaction and motivation. This commitment is crucial to a company’s success. Employees who are engaged are more likely to be productive and perform better.

Key Drivers

The 3 main drivers to employee engagement are:

  1. Satisfaction
  2. Loyalty
  3. Advocacy

Employers can enhance the engagement quotient by focusing on these 3 drivers.

These 3 drivers can further be broken into 10 subsets as per Winzard. The 10 subsets are:

  • Vision and Purpose of the company
  • Support to Perform
  • Constructive feedback
  • Work Life Balance
  • Rewards and recognition
  • Supervisor’s influence
  • Clarity of Job role, policies and procedures
  • Team camaraderie
  • Fair practices
  • Opportunities to grow

4 Categories of Employee Engagement

Employees can be broadly classified into the following categories:

  1. Highly Engaged: Passionate and driven to influence and succeed. Moderately Engaged: Engaged but impacted by 1 or 2 issues that keeps them from becoming highly engaged.
  2. Disengaged: Those who come to work to keep their job and not keen on growth of self/ team/ company.
  3. Cynical: This category of employees adversely influence other employees and could potentially derail progress of the unit or company on the whole.
  4. Leaders strive to keep out cynicism and reduce the disengagement quotient with various initiatives but the big question is “Are they taking the initiatives?”

Workforce Engagement Survey

The Workforce Engagement Survey analyzes the engagement quotient of the company’s workforce. The Workforce Engagement survey which is part of Winzard’s Workforce Experience platform, is a unique multilingual survey like Winzard’s Wellbeing Survey. The process and questionnaire were developed by Winzard.io in collaboration with the Department of Entrepreneurship and Management at Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. The anonymous survey takes approximately 5 minutes to fill by an employee.

Powerful Insights

The key differentiator and USP is that the survey consists of a 2-step process which leads to insights that help find out why the problem exists in addition to what/ where the problem exists. The platform provides customization while viewing insights due its filters in the insights section. The leadership can get great insights pertaining to the engagement quotient at various areas of the company like unit, gender, grade, location, age etc. Using the filters, the leaders can get pinpointed and granular insights which will help in quick and effective action planning.

Action Planning Tab

To make life easier for the leader, Winzard has further provided an action planning tab that helps them to create action plans on the platform basis the insights. The leader can understand blindspots from the insights and accordingly create ‘Action Plans’ for those blindspots. Each of the APs can be assigned along with timelines to an employee in the tab itself to ensure that accountability is created and status can be reviewed with a dashboard. The leader can view all APs created in a single view along with corresponding latest status.
